Wayne Jefferies

Wayne grew up in rural New Zealand in the Wairarapa just north of Wellington in the North Island. Since childhood, Wayne has developed a passion for many forms of art – including sculpture, drawing and oil painting.  He received his first commission for oil paintings at the age of 23, which began the focus on his art career. In developing his skills in Iron Works & moving to Perth in 2007, he started working on a new form of sculpture that reflects the old masters of the medium with modern welding methods.

Stephanie Boyle

Stephanie was raised on a farm in the W.A. wheat belt township of Dudinin.  The freedom she was a forwarded as a child to roam far and wide without the restrictions has enhanced her artistic vision.  She considers herself extremely lucky to be able to express herself through a passion for painting. She started painting Water Colours in 1992. She now exhibits widely throughout Western Australia at group Exhibitions. Her work is represented in many private and corporate collections

Shirley Fisher

Art began for Shirley as a four year old with the smell of Wax Crayons and Plasticine on her first day of school. Art was always her favourite subject during her formal years of education. It was not until attending Perth Technical College to study a Diploma of Art and Design did she become serious about her art. Her works are vibrant in palette and has a passion for the use of Pastels which is reflect in her renowned Seascapes and the Landscapes of our northwest.

Robert lives outside the central wheatbelt town of Kondinin, soon to be a resident of Kellerberrin. He lectures in visual arts and contemporary craft with CY O’Connor Institute with students in Certificate and Diploma qualifications at the  regional campuses of Quairading, Northam, Kellerberrin and Merredin.

Heritage – born in a small country town on the Darling Downs in Queensland.  Greyhound bus to Western Australia in 1982 and been here ever since.  Home is where the heart is.

He has lived and worked in the region for over 10 years. In that time, he has established community arts projects and practices, produced  and staged a number of events and functions to raise the profile of the visual arts in the region and has been  dedicated and prolific  in his output.

As an artist/designer he has built a reputation also,  as a fashion designer –  these days concentrating on menswear, producing 1 collection per year. The solo exhibitions in the past included catwalk and couture. In this exhibition, McCaffrey will show  selected items from the 2012  Collection.

The York Mill Markets is on every weekend.

Perts Pantry – you wont be able to resist the fresh breads, cakes, savory ans sweet treats. Chris and John cook up a storm each week ensuring that on your visit to the markets you can take home a little bit of heaven including jams, chutneys and home pressed olive oil.

Pert’s now also include fresh fruit, vegetables and plants. All carefully selected for quality, it’s the stall of great goodness.

Rainbow Heart Creations – Local author and jewellery designer. Marilyn Windsor has a beautiful array of hand-crafted gemstone necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Marilyn’s stall also offers over 100 different varieties of natural crystals, gemstones and minerals, polished and rough; some of which have been personally discovered by Marilyn and Alan from regions within Western Australia.

As the author of a “Design and Make Your Own Jewellery” book series, currently stocked at the Markets, Spotlight, Lincraft and most craft stores in Australia, Marilyn is a fount of knowledge on techniques for designing and creating jewellery and also sells beading supplies. It’s a stall that will captivate with colour, designs and information.

Pretty Thingz – Renee has a wonderful array of costume jewellery and hair clips in colours for all. Browse through her stall and treat yourself to that piece to set off the new outfit.

Desert Timber Crafts - “Mick Cotter is a well-known local craftsman and wood-turner.    He lived on the Goldfields for nearly sixty years, developing a large pastoral sheep station from mostly virgin bush.    In recent years he has retired to the Avon Valley.

 “He has travelled extensively over the vast outback areas of Western Australia, gaining a good knowledge of the bush and an appreciation of strong conservation values, at the same time as earning a living in the Pastoral industry.   Mick also has extensive knowledge by working in and development of the Sandalwood Harvesting industry over many years.

 “Mick took up wood turning several years ago.   He delights in using the spectacular grain and colours in Goldfields woods to special effect.   Samples of wood come from as far afield as Wiluna, Laverton, the Western Nullarbor and Southern and Central Goldfields.”

Second Hand Books and Bric-Brac Stall – Everyones ideal, time to fossick amongst the books and small bric a brac items pick up something to read over the weekend or a take home gift.

The markets are filled with a great variety of ever changing stalls, you will need to visit often so you don’t miss out.
