Shane Moad was born in 1959 in Manly NSW. He comes from a station and farming background, his mothers family (Blackman) being prominent farmers and first settlers in NSW.
Shane has had no formal training and only came to realize his ability to paint after a motor cycle accident which occured in 1989. He continues to grow as an artist by observing the landscape he loves and interpreting it in his unique way on canvas.
Shane’s work has been recognized by leading art authoritoes as highly unique. He has won many awards including winning the nations largest regional art show twice, Cossack Arts Awards, in the landscapes section. Shane’s art is in private and corporate collections in Autralia, America, England and Asia.
He has been given numerous awards, included in those are by the past Director of the “Art Gallery of Western Australia”, Alan R Dodge, esteemed Australian Artist Robert Juniper, David Walker, “Adjunct Professor of Art, Curtin University, plus many others.
The York Mill Gallery is delighted to be associated with Shane and privileged to be one of only two that exhibit his works in Australia.
